Baku:Bishop Alexiy, head of the Russian Orthodox Church Diocese of Baku and Azerbaijan, emphasized the role of unity among Azerbaijan's diverse population in achieving victory during the Patriotic War. He spoke at an event dedicated to September 27 - Remembrance Day - held at the Caucasus Muslims Office.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bishop Alexiy remarked that people of different ethnicities and faiths in Azerbaijan live together as one family, bound by mutual respect and friendship. This solidarity was crucial in uniting the people during the war.

He further commented on Azerbaijan's longstanding tradition of tolerance and multiculturalism, where various religious and ethnic groups coexist in mutual respect and understanding.

The bishop underscored the importance of the victory in the Patriotic War, noting it led to the liberation of the country's lands, enhanced citizens' security, and provided new opportunities for regional economic development.
