Bodies of 19 Soldiers Recovered Following Turkish Plane Crash in Georgia

Tbilisi: The bodies of 19 soldiers have been recovered following the crash of a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft in Georgia, which resulted in the deaths of all 20 soldiers on board. The tragic incident occurred as the aircraft was en route from Azerbaijan to Trkiye, APA reports, citing Ahaber.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the search continues for the one remaining soldier. Georgia’s Interior Minister, Gela Geladze, reported that four of the recovered bodies were located in the aircraft’s cockpit. Geladze emphasized the collaborative efforts between Georgia and Trkiye, highlighting that an international investigation team has been established to probe the incident.

The minister assured that he maintains regular communication with his Turkish counterpart to ensure a thorough investigation. The team, which includes Turkish officials, will release detailed information progressively, given the military nature of the aircraft.
