Baku: BP has disclosed that a total of 159 million barrels of oil and condensate have been exported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline during the first three quarters of 2025.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the transportation of oil and gas from the ‘Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli’ (ACG) and ‘Shah Deniz’ fields to the Sangachal terminal has continued via subsea pipelines in the third quarter. The Sangachal terminal’s daily technical processing capacity is reported to be 1.2 million barrels of oil and condensate. Additionally, it can handle approximately 81 million standard cubic meters of ‘Shah Deniz’ gas. The total gas processing and export capacity, including ACG associated gas, is around 100 million standard cubic meters per day.

Gas exports have been primarily conducted through the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), its expansion system (SCPX), and the Azerbaijan gas pipeline, which connects the terminal’s gas processing facilities to the ‘Azerigaz’ distribution system. During the first three quarters, an average of 74.5 million standard cubic meters per day, or approximately 2.63 billion standard cubic feet, of ‘Shah Deniz’ gas was exported from the terminal.
