Brattleboro Reformer: The United States must demand the release of Azerbaijani children from captivity

The American newspaper Brattleboro Reformer published an article entitled “The United States should demand the release of Azerbaijani children from captivity.”

The article is dedicated to the International Children’s Day and Azerbaijani children captured by Armenian troops during the First Karabakh War in the 1990s.

The article discusses the fact that every year June 1 is celebrated as International Children’s Day in many countries around the world. This significant event encourages the world community to protect the rights of children and improve their well-being. Unfortunately, 29 years ago, when Armenia carried out ethnic cleansing in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, the happiness of Azerbaijani children in that region came to an end.

It is noted that the Armenian army purposefully abducted Azerbaijani children in the occupied territories. 71 Azerbaijani children are still missing and Armenia refuses to provide information on their whereabouts. The article also says that the United States should put pressure on Armenia to release adult Azerbaijani citizens from Armenian captivity, or to provide information if they have been killed by Armenian servicemen.

The article was published as a result of another campaign conducted by the US Azerbaijanis Network to inform the American public.
