Brazilian President Inacio Lula da Silva to Miss BRICS Summit Due to Health Issues

Brasilia: Brazilian President Inacio Lula da Silva will not attend the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, scheduled for October 22 to 24, due to health concerns following a domestic accident. Instead, he will participate in the summit through a video link, as confirmed by his press service.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Brazilian head of state recently suffered a mishap at home, which resulted in a minor injury when he bumped the back of his head. Following this incident, he was taken to the Sirio-Libanes hospital in Brasilia for medical attention. Based on the recommendations from his medical team, President Silva has been advised against long-haul air travel to ensure his well-being and allow him to focus on other pressing tasks. Consequently, his physical presence at the BRICS summit in Kazan has been ruled out, although he will still engage in the summit’s activities remotely.
