MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on the BRICS nations to resist efforts that use the climate agenda as a means to eliminate market competitors. He made these remarks during an expanded session of the BRICS summit, APA reports citing TASS.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Putin emphasized the need for the BRICS countries to collectively support balanced approaches in transitioning the global economy towards low-emission development models. He highlighted the importance of opposing any attempts that leverage the climate agenda to marginalize competitors, particularly in developing markets.
