Britain slaps sanctions on Iranian officials -UPDATED

Great Britain imposed sanctions on Iran, said the British Foreign Ministry, APA’s Britain bureau reports.

 

Deputy Prosecutor General Ahmet Fazelyan is among those sanctioned.

 

It was reported that the sanctioned individuals include the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ground Forces Kiyumars Heydari, the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Sarallah Hossein Nejat, and the Deputy Commander of the Law Enforcement Forces Gasim Rezai.

 

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said that those sanctioned today are at the center of the regime’s brutal persecution of the Iranian people, ranging from court officials who utilize the death penalty for political purposes to those who beat protestors in the streets.

 

Great Britain imposed sanctions on SEPAH commanders, said the British Foreign Ministry, APA reports.

 

Iranian judges and officials were sanctioned in addition to SEPAH commanders.
