Baku: From Iliana Iotova, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, comes a message of congratulations and optimism on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. President Iotova expressed sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to her and her delegation during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the forum was marked by the attendance of more than ten mayors from Bulgarian municipalities, alongside representatives from Bulgarian higher educational institutions. President Iotova emphasized her satisfaction with the second bilateral meeting held in three months, which signifies the robust political dialogue between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan at the highest level. She concurred with the sentiment that the positive political dynamics should translate into practical cooperation and projects for mutual benefit.

President Iotova highlighted the significance of agreements reached in the realm of energy cooperation, aiming to enhance Azerbaijani gas supplies to Bulgarian companies. Discussions also included the potential of a second energy corridor for transmitting green energy overland between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Trkiye, and Bulgaria. She underscored the necessity of these investments in a world characterized by conflicts and insecurity. The President also pointed out the importance of strengthening partnerships in industrial zones, technological parks, and expanding educational and cultural ties.

In her message, President Iotova extended an invitation to inaugurate Shusha Park in Veliko Tarnovo, symbolizing the nations' friendly relations. She expressed hope for a future visit to Bulgaria, wishing good health and further success to her Azerbaijani counterpart and his family.
