C3V Civil Society Member Calls for Comorian Independence to be Non-Threatening to France

BAKU — During a conference addressing “The illegal French occupation of the Union of Comoros,” Nadia Tourqui, a member of the Civil Society of the Collective of the 3rd Way (C3V), advocated for the independence of the Comoros Union, stating it should not pose a threat to France.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Tourqui highlighted the current socio-political issues in Mayotte due to French policies, noting the island’s significant poverty and lack of political support. She argued that Comoros’s quest for sovereignty should not be seen as a threat by France, emphasizing that the ongoing occupation not only undermines Mayotte’s stability but also impacts the security of the surrounding archipelago.
