Cairo Hosts Seminar to Enhance Egyptian-Azerbaijani Relations


CAIRO: A seminar aimed at bolstering Egyptian-Azerbaijani relations was held at the Journalists’ Syndicate in Cairo, attracting over 50 local journalists and researchers. The event, titled “Egypt-Azerbaijan: Efforts and prospects for cooperation to strengthen relations between the countries,” was organized to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration between the two nations.

According to Trend News Agency, Azerbaijani Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov addressed the gathering, highlighting the strengthened relations following mutual high-level visits between Egypt and Azerbaijan. Polukhov provided insights into the preparations for the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in November. He praised Egypt’s experience in hosting COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh in 2022 and its willingness to share insights with Azerbaijan.

ies between the two countries. International relations researcher Khada Jaber focused on women’s rights in Azerbaijan, noting the significant representation of women in the Azerbaijani parliament, including a female chairperson.

The seminar concluded with a Q and A session, where Polukhov and other speakers addressed questions from attendees. Egyptian media extensively covered the seminar, emphasizing the role of the Egypt-Azerbaijan Friendship Society in fostering friendship and educational connections. The society is noted for offering free courses in Azerbaijani and English languages, Quran reading, and various cultural subjects, benefiting over 600 young people from 57 countries.
