Baku: In the first three quarters of this year, expenditures on the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) amounted to approximately USD 73 million, which is equal to last year’s figure, APA-Economics reports, citing BP’s report on the results of its activities in Azerbaijan for the first nine months of the current year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the reporting period, operating expenses for the SCP were approximately USD 52 million, marking a 13.3% decrease, while capital expenditures reached about USD 21 million, reflecting a 61.5% increase.

The SCP has been operational since late 2006 and plays a crucial role in transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye. The expanded section of the pipeline began commercial deliveries to Trkiye in June 2018 and extended its reach to Europe by December 2020.

In the first three quarters of the year, the South Caucasus Pipeline’s average daily throughput capacity for exports was 63.1 million cubic meters, as noted in the report.
