Car Collides with Train in Agdash, Azerbaijan, Leaving Three Injured

Agdash: At around 23:55 on May 28, near Leki station, a Mercedes passenger car collided with a freight train while it was in motion, violating the rules for using the railway crossing by crossing despite the railway crossing being closed, the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the collision occurred at a railway crossing intended for cars located in the area of Leki settlement. As a result of the incident, three individuals, Emil Latifov, born in 1994, Jeyhun Shirinov, born in 1988, and Parvin Khasmammadov, born in 1996, who were in the Mercedes car, sustained varying degrees of bodily injuries and were taken to the district central hospital for treatment.

Azerbaijan Railways has urged drivers to strictly adhere to the rules when approaching railway crossings. They emphasized the importance of paying attention to roadside signs and ensuring no trains are approaching by looking both ways before proceeding. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
