Baku: The opening ceremony of world-renowned American sculptor Carole Feuerman's exhibition 'Reborn into the Water' was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The event was attended by Alena Aliyeva, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov, Carole Feuerman herself, official guests, diplomats, and famous artists. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Anar Alakbarov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center, highlighted that the center is inaugurating the year with this significant exhibition. He noted that the project would be one of the landmark exhibitions of the year, with most exhibits sourced from the U.S. and several European countries. Remarkably, one of the works is being displayed in Baku for the first time. Carole Feuerman, speaking at the event, expressed that art has always been her primary mode of expression, serving as a vital storytelling tool and a medium for intellectual exploration. She emphasized that the works on display at the exhibition are dedicated to the theme of water, aiming to foster empathy and challenge conventional mindsets. The exhibition marks the public debut of Feuerman's work, Ruth, at the prestigious Heydar Aliyev Center. Known for her full-body sculptures with a powerful sense of realism, Feuerman's figurative sculptures often depict swimmers and dancers. 'Reborn into the Water' chronicles her evolution from the 1970s to her modern-day signature swimmer figures, offering a comprehensive retrospective of her career. Feuerman's works have been showcased in prestigious venues worldwide, with outdoor installations gracing iconic locations such as New York Park Avenue and Central Park, the Poydras Corridor in New Orleans, and Avenue George V in Paris.
