Armenia to sign agreement soon which will regulate activities of EU mission

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the agreement which will regulate the activity of the EU civilian mission in Armenia, will be signed soon, said the Armenian PM at the press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

 

“Currently, issues related to the EU civilian mission in Armenia are regulated by mutual official letters. However, we have an agreement to discuss the agreement regulating the mission’s activities in the future and sign a contract,” said Pashinyan.

OTS SecGen thanks Azerbaijan for excellent organization of NAM summit

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2. I thank Azerbaijan for the excellent organization of such an important event and hospitality, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) Kubanychbek Omuraliev said, addressing the Summit of NAM Contact Group in response to COVID-19 in Baku, Trend reports.

“I thank President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his leadership and encouragement of multilateral cooperation. Although we are a new organization, we have extensive ties to the UN. In addition, since the beginning of the pandemic, we have had links with the World Health Organization,” he said.

Baku is hosting the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group in response to COVID-19.

The summit is attended by representatives from about 70 countries. Presidents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Libya; Vice-Presidents of Cuba, Gabon, and Tanzania; Prime Ministers of Algeria and Kenya, and high-ranking representatives of various countries take part in the event.

Central Bank of Azerbaijan raised its foreign exchange reserves by 26%

As of March 1, 2023, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan had foreign exchange reserves in the amount of 9 043.8 million US dollars.

 

This is reported on the structure’s website.

 

The report says that as compared to February 1, there was a decrease in foreign exchange reserves by 0.2%.

 

However, the CBA’s foreign exchange reserves grew by 0.5% as compared to the beginning of the year and by 26.3% over the past year

Azerbaijan raised monetary base by 24%

As of 1 March 2023, Azerbaijan had a monetary base of 17,248.7 million manat, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said on its website.

 

The report says that the monetary base grew by 2.2% as compared to February 1.

 

The monetary base in the country reduced by 1.2% as compared to the beginning of the year and rose by 23.7% last year

Natural gas prices sees more than 4% increase in Europe

At the closing of the auctions, the price of 1000 m3 gas was defined above the $539 level in Europe, APA Economics reports.

 

On 1st March the value of April futures makes up USD 533.6 according to the index of the Title Transfer Facility of Netherlands (TTF), the most liquid virtual sales center.

 

In comparison to the previous price (USD 511.5), it is 4.3% times more.

 

Recall that on the 7th of march last year the price of gas in Europe increased up to a maximum of USD 3900 setting several records during the day.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan eye cooperation between financial markets

As part of his trip to Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov has met with Madina Abylkassymova, Chairperson of Agency on Regulation and Development of Financial Market.

 

The meeting focused on prospects of cooperation between the financial markets of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

 

The issues discussed at the meeting included financial markets indicators in the previous year as well as financial institutions oversight.
