Baku: “The current account surplus (CAS) for the first half of this year shows that the CBA’s forecasts are justified,” said Vugar Ahmadov, Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), at a press conference, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ahmadov highlighted that in the first half of this year, the ratio of the current account surplus to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) was 6.4%, which suggests positive dynamics. He noted that in the medium term, forecasts suggest the external sector will remain favorable.
Ahmadov also mentioned that in July, the current account surplus was projected to be around 3-4 billion US dollars in 2025-2026. While additional clarifications might occur at upcoming meetings, he emphasized that no significant corrections are anticipated.
