CBA to revise its monetary policy 8 times this year

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has issued a statement on the main directions of monetary policy for 2023.

 

The statement says that this year the agency plans to revise its monetary policy 8 times, as was last year.

 

The Central Bank’s monetary policy decisions will be made public on February 1, March 29, May 3, June 21, July 26, September 20, November 1 and December 20.

 

Four decisions will be announced at a press conference by the chairman of the organization Taleh Kazimov. Meetings with media representatives are scheduled for February, May, July and November.

 

Basically, the point is about parameters of the interest rate corridor, including the discount rate. The last time the CBA raised its discount rate by 0.25 percentage points on December 16 – from 8% to 8.25%, setting the lower and upper limits of the interest rate corridor at 6.25% and 9.25%, respectively.
