Ceremony of Presenting ‘Dostlug’ Tanker Held with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan

Baku: A ceremony presenting the 'Dostlug' (Friendship) oil tanker was held online, featuring the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the 'Dostlug' oil tanker, a gift from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, was constructed at the Baku Shipyard. The vessel measures 141 meters in length, 16.9 meters in width, and has a draft of 4.54 meters. With a deadweight capacity of 7,875 tons, the tanker's construction is not only a testament to the progress in Azerbaijan's shipbuilding industry but also symbolizes the strengthening of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. It further underscores the capability to execute large-scale and technologically sophisticated shipbuilding projects at the Baku Shipyard.

The Baku Shipyard has, to date, completed the construction of 14 ships and repaired over 170 ships. Currently, the shipyard's order portfolio includes 17 ships, with 11 under construction and 6 in the design phase.
