Baku: Marcelina Zielinska, the Group Board Director at Chapman Taylor, a renowned UK-based urban planning and architecture firm, has expressed her anticipation for engaging in a series of panel sessions during the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is set to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Zielinska shared her expectations and insights for this year's WUF13, emphasizing the challenges confronting future urban development. She highlighted that the forum will concentrate on housing as a vital component of global initiatives. With the rapid population increase in developing nations, there is an urgent need for swift and cost-effective development solutions. In contrast, developed nations are channeling resources towards environmentally sustainable measures. This dichotomy, Zielinska suggests, will fuel a dynamic debate on the evolution of urban development during the forum.
Zielinska further stressed the importance of platforms like WUF13 in bringing together diverse stakeholders to facilitate dialogue and exchange experiences. Such interactions, she noted, are instrumental in crafting solutions that promise a better future for both humanity and the environment. She acknowledged that each debate serves as a learning opportunity, where participants from around the globe contribute their knowledge and confront their respective challenges, fostering innovative ideas for resolving domestic issues.
Highlighting Azerbaijan's role, Zielinska remarked that WUF13 is an opportunity for the country to be recognized as a leader in global initiatives and a nation that is investing in cutting-edge technologies. The forum, she believes, will showcase the advancements Azerbaijan has achieved in this domain.
