Baku: 'The European Union's guiding principles - peace, prosperity, and democratic values - are facing significant challenges,' said Charles Michel, former President of the European Council, during the panel session titled 'Global Security and Balance of Power: Respect for International Law - New Issues, New Challenges,' held as part of the Global Baku Forum.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Charles Michel noted that the tendency toward double standards within and outside the European Union is a serious problem that undermines international law and electoral systems. 'In this situation, alternative strategies must be developed at the EU level, economic foundations strengthened, regulation carried out more intelligently, capabilities in security and defense enhanced, and reliable partnerships established,' he added.
