According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the winning team's goals were scored by Jadon Anthony in the 61st minute, Igor Thiago in the 83rd minute, and Fabio Carvalho in the 90+5th minute. This match marked Chelsea's first since American businessman Todd Bowley stepped down as chairman of the club's board. On September 17, Chelsea's press office announced that Bowley would sell his stake to Clearlake, granting it full control of the club.

Bowley, who co-founded the BlueCo consortium, acquired Chelsea on May 28, 2022. Under his leadership, Chelsea secured two trophies: the 2025 Conference League and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Brentford's recent victory has propelled them to third place in the league table with nine points, while Chelsea currently stands in seventh place with seven points.
