Baku:Children born after the occupation of a district, where their fathers have internally displaced person (IDP) status, will be granted IDP status and an identification card. This applies if both parents are permanently registered in the occupied district or city.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, this provision will not apply in cases where the parents have obtained permanent registration in other cities and districts due to official duties or other circumstances as stipulated by law.
The amendment is part of the "Rules for Granting Internally Displaced Person Status and Issuing Identification Cards Confirming Such Status to Internally Displaced Persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan." This change was introduced by a decision of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.
