China to Boost Practical Cooperation with BRICS Partners, Says MFA

Beijing: China plans to enhance practical cooperation with its BRICS partners across various sectors, as stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, APA reports citing TASS. The move aims to contribute more substantially to the sustainable growth of the global economy.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mao Ning commented on US President Donald Trump’s proposal to impose 100% tariffs on BRICS countries. She highlighted BRICS as a significant platform for collaboration among developing nations, advocating for openness and mutually advantageous cooperation. Mao emphasized that the group does not engage in bloc confrontation or target any third party, but rather focuses on achieving common development and prosperity.

Trump had previously issued a warning about imposing heavy trade tariffs if BRICS countries decided to introduce a new currency or move away from the US dollar.
