Baku:Deeper cooperation among the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) should be complemented by stronger connections among media professionals. Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of CICA, emphasized this point during his address at the media forum titled 'Building Trust through Media in a Polarized World' held in Baku.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the forum presents an excellent opportunity to foster these connections, exchange experiences, and promote CICA's initiatives to a broader audience.
Sarybay highlighted that the world is increasingly influenced by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and climate pressures. In this environment, digital transformation is significantly altering how information is received and interpreted by society. He pointed out that while rapid information flows can help resolve disagreements, they can also worsen misunderstandings.
He also referenced changes in statements and narratives, noting that these have a direct impact on international relations, as mentioned in President Ilham Aliyev's address.
