CIS News Agencies Discuss Information Support for Tourism Potential in Kyrgyzstan

Baku: The Council of Heads of State News Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Information Council) convened its 35th meeting in the city of Cholpon-Ata, hosted by Kyrgyzstan's Kabar National News Agency. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting occurred ahead of the 6th World Nomad Games and the upcoming Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) scheduled for August 31 and September 1 in Bishkek. Key representatives from news agencies such as AZERTAC (Azerbaijan), BELTA (Belarus), KAZINFORM (Kazakhstan), KABAR (Kyrgyzstan), TASS (Russia), and TDH (Turkmenistan) participated in these discussions. The agenda focused on enhancing information support from state news agencies to elevate the tourism potential across CIS countries. The discussions emphasized promoting the World Nomad Games as a representation of tradition, national identity, culture, sports, friendship, and hospitality. Additionally, the meeting addressed events marking the 35th anniver sary of the CIS and the functions of the newly launched website of the CIS National News Agencies Association (ANIA). Participants received updates on AZERTAC's tourism initiatives, notably the "If I Were a Tourist" project, which showcases Azerbaijan's landmarks, historical sites, and cultural heritage. The initiative's content is set to be regularly featured on the updated ANIA website.
