Rome: Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, is set to visit Rome, the capital of Italy, on March 8. The press service of the Caucasus Muslims Office shared this information with APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, an iftar dinner will be organized in Rome on March 9. This event is an initiative by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Holy See and the Caucasus Muslims Office. The dinner will be attended by Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade and heads of religious confessions in Azerbaijan. His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will be represented by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of the Holy See.
The iftar dinner will be held at the St. Regis Hotel in Rome. It will see the participation of numerous diplomatic missions accredited to the Holy See in Italy, along with representatives from the state, religious communities, and the public. This gathering is viewed as a significant effort by Azerbaijan to promote interreligious dialogue and cooperation on a global scale.
