New york: A commemorative event marking the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at Columbia University in New York, the U.S.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Tofig Musayev, addressed the event, providing detailed information about the history and consequences of the Khojaly genocide. He emphasized the importance of giving international legal and political assessment of the tragedy.
During the commemorative event, Nargiz Aliyarova, head of the Alliance of Azerbaijani Organizations of America, highlighted the crimes committed against the peaceful population in Khojaly.
In his remarks, Abdelhamid Siyam, former UN spokesperson and UN bureau chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi, spoke about the truths regarding Khojaly, underscoring the importance of promoting values of peace and humanism.
The event also featured an exhibition dedicated to the Khojaly genocide.
