Baku: "Housing policy cannot be planned separately from transport, infrastructure, and employment," Deputy Head of the Office of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and Deputy National Coordinator of WUF13, Gulshan Rzayeva, declared during the high-level dialogue titled 'The Global Housing Crisis - What's the Plan?' held within the framework of WUF13, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gulshan Rzayeva emphasized that the housing crisis has evolved from being a regional issue to a complex global challenge impacting both developed and developing nations. She stressed that the lack of safe, accessible, and affordable housing hinders the achievement of health equality, economic resilience, and protection against climate change impacts.

"This is not only a housing issue. It is a development, climate, and human rights issue," Rzayeva stated. She underscored the necessity for housing policy to be integrated with transport, engineering infrastructure, employment, public services, and climate resilience. Moreover, she highlighted the significance of strengthening land management and maintaining the social and ecological functions of land as crucial steps towards enhancing housing affordability.

Gulshan Rzayeva also expressed pride in Azerbaijan's role as the host of WUF13, bringing together global leaders, experts, and decision-makers to collaboratively shape the future of urban environments.
