COMSTECH Hosts 3rd OIC Youth Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Dhaka

Dhaka: COMSTECH organized the 3rd OIC Youth Forum in cooperation with the Islamic Organization for Food Security at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhury, the Coordinator General of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the forum, organized with the collaboration of COMSTECH, the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), and North South University (NSU), aims to unite prominent policymakers, academics, and representatives of international organizations. The focus is on emphasizing the critical role of biotechnology in tackling global food security issues.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhury highlighted the robust partnership between Bangladesh and COMSTECH in advancing science and technology. He mentioned that the COMSTECH-Bangladesh Scholarship Programme has facilitated numerous young researchers in pursuing higher studies and research in Pakistan and other Islamic countries. He also expressed appreciation to North South University, the Islamic Organization for Food Security, and all partner institutions for their efforts in organizing the forum.

The forum, concluding today, features multiple scientific sessions with speakers from Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and other countries. This platform aims to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen international cooperation in agricultural biotechnology.
