Construction and Restoration Efforts Progress in Aghdara and Khojaly Districts

Khankendi: Construction and restoration works are actively progressing in 16 villages within the Aghdara and Khojaly districts as part of the current year’s resettlement plan, stated Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi city and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts. This announcement was made during the 9th meeting of the heads of diplomatic service bodies held in Khankendi, according to the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in these areas, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Sabuhi Gahramanov highlighted that under the 2025 resettlement plan, reconstruction efforts are expected to conclude in eight villages of Khojaly, namely Ballija, Khanyurdu, Tazabina, Dashbulag, Badara, Seyidbeyli, Khanabad, and Shushakand, as well as eight villages of Aghdara, including Hasanriz, Vangli, Kolatag, Childiran, Heyvali, Damirli, Chapar, and Ashaghi Oratagh. Following the completion of these projects, a phased return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native villages will commence.

The return of these individuals will occur on a voluntary basis, with former IDPs resettling in their ancestral lands. Presently, planning and preparatory work is in progress to facilitate future resettlements to these and additional settlements.

Gahramanov further mentioned that the return of some former IDPs to Khojaly city, Ballija village, and the villages of Sugovushan, Hasanriz, and Talish in the Aghdara district has already been achieved.
