“On the evening of December 18, a passenger bus traveling from the Turkish city of Igdir to Istanbul crashed in the Sarigamysh settlement of Kars due to snowy weather. There were 21 Azerbaijani citizens on that bus,” Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars Nuru Guliyev told APA’s Turkey bureau.

Mr. Guliyev said that Gamar Niyazova, born in 2002, and Fazila Ismayilova, born in 1961, are residents of the Sharur district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, died in the accident.

The Consul General said that 14 out of 21 Azerbaijani citizens on the bus were injured, one of them in critical condition: “13 of the injured were released after receiving medical treatment.”
