Baku: Within the framework of Baku Energy Week, documents have been signed for the implementation of three solar energy projects with a total capacity of 200 MW, as well as cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. in the field of green energy.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a ‘Land Lease Agreement’ was signed between the Ministry of Energy and ‘Universal Solar Azerbaijan’ LLC for the ‘Gobustan’ Solar Power Plant (SPP) project with a capacity of 100 MW. This project is the first of its kind in the country based on the international auction mechanism in renewable energy. The document was signed by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and the company’s director, Tao Zhicheng. Additionally, the ‘Power Purchase Agreement’ and the ‘Grid Connection Agreement’ for the project were signed by Baba Rzayev, Chairman of the Board on behalf of ‘Azerenerji’ JSC, and Tao Zhicheng on behalf of the company.
As part of initiatives to transform liberated territories into a green energy zone, contracts have also been signed for two planned solar power plants in the Jabrayil district. The ‘Land Lease Agreements’ for the 50 MW ‘Ufug’ SPP and the 50 MW ‘Shams’ SPP projects were signed by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Eldar Mammadzade, director of ‘Enerso Jabrayil’ LLC, and Khayala Nagiyeva, director of ‘Clean Energy Jabrayil’ LLC. ‘Power Purchase Agreements’ and ‘Grid Connection Agreements’ for both projects have also been signed.
Balance agreements have been signed with ‘Norm’ JSC concerning the solar power plants planned for Jabrayil. Additionally, a Protocol on amendments to extend the term of the ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Energy Transition’ between the Ministry of Energy and Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. was signed.
Several documents have been signed in Azerbaijan in the field of green energy development. The agreements involve the Ministry of Energy, “Azerenergy” OJSC, and various companies, focusing largely on the construction of new solar power plants in the country.
