Coordinator: South Caucasus Becoming Center of Attention Amid Geopolitical Developments

Baku: 'Although everything fits theoretically regarding the creation of a regional format, in practice the interests of states do not align,' said Farhad Mammadov, coordinator of the 'Peace Bridge' initiative and Director of the South Caucasus Research Center, APA reports. He made the remarks at a press conference held on the meeting of experts from Azerbaijani and Armenian civil societies within the framework of the initiative.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadov highlighted that the geopolitical situation has positioned the South Caucasus region as an increasing focal point. He noted that there is a certain level of preparedness concerning infrastructure in the region. However, he emphasized the differing positions of countries within the region, pointing out that these disparities necessitate additional agreements. 'Theoretically, everything aligns, but in practice, there are the interests of individual states and the functions they must fulfill in the integration process,' Mammadov stated.
