BAKU – In an effort to increase awareness and encourage eco-friendly practices among the public, the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company hosted the ‘Go Eco-Friendly’ event at the COP29 Information Centre along Baku Boulevard.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and supported by COP29 volunteers. It aimed to address key environmental issues such as the reduction of plastic waste, the importance of recycling, and the benefits of reusing materials. The event welcomed residents of Baku to bring items like plastic, paper, and batteries for recycling, providing them with educational resources on the detrimental effects of plastic, proper disposal methods, and paper recycling techniques.
The event also featured interactive sessions where participants could create their own eco-friendly bags from sustainable materials. This activity underscored the initiative’s broader goal of reducing plastic bag usage and promoting more sustainable alternatives in everyday life. All waste collected during the event was responsibly disposed of by ‘Tamiz Shahar’ OJSC in conjunction with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
