COP29 Traffic Management Preparations Intensify in Baku

BAKU: Preparations for the COP29 conference are intensifying in Baku with a focus on transport management across key city streets and avenues, according to the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company. The organization is working to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow during the international event.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, a significant test run is scheduled for October 26-27, between 02:30 and 05:30, to simulate the anticipated traffic conditions during the conference. This exercise is a collaborative effort involving the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency. It is designed to accommodate the expected traffic, including conference vehicles, shuttles, emergency ambulances, and fire engines. Temporary traffic diversions will be implemented on some city streets to facilitate the monitoring process, with further details expected to be announced soon.

Additionally, COP29 shuttles will be monitored on October 26 and 27 as they navi
gate Baku’s streets and avenues. This will occur without any traffic restrictions, ensuring minimal disruption to the public while allowing for comprehensive oversight of transport operations.
