COP29 Volunteer Programme Successfully Completes Crucial Training Stage

BAKU: The COP29 Volunteer Programme, a key initiative for the upcoming global climate conference, has successfully completed a significant training phase aimed at equipping volunteers with necessary skills and knowledge for the event.

According to Trend News Agency, the programme recently concluded a series of extensive training sessions that prepared the volunteers in various aspects including personal development, sustainability, climate change, environmental protection, and understanding the COP29 process. This training is crucial for the volunteers who will play a pivotal role in the smooth execution of the conference activities.

The special role training provided detailed insights into the specific tasks and responsibilities that the volunteers will undertake during the conference. This phase was conducted by experts from the structural divisions of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company. The volunteers were introduced to the departments they will be assigned to, met with their future team members, and
learned about their detailed duties during the event.

As a result of these comprehensive training phases, 3,000 volunteers have been selected to assist in various capacities across 17 departments. These roles range from supporting accommodation services to managing transportation and logistics. The trained volunteers are set to begin their assignments starting October 14.

The final stage of preparation will commence on November 3 with venue training at Baku Stadium. During this phase, volunteers will undergo on-site training to familiarize themselves with the event’s infrastructure, particularly the Blue and Green Zones, and refine their coordination skills for their respective roles during the conference.
