Court of Appeal leaves PFPA activist under arrest

The Baku Court of Appeal did not satisfy the complaint against the administrative arrest of Rovshan Safarov, an activist of the Popular Front Party, the lawyer Nemat Karimli announced.

According to him, the activist was detained on January 22, but this became known on the 24th, when the lawyer visited another activist Anar Huseynov in the Bianagadi detention center for administratively arrested persons.

Both activists participated in the PFPA march on January 20 on the Day of Sorrow to the Alley of Martyrs. They protested against the actions of the police, which created obstacles for the march to the Alley of Martyrs.

Since the Court of Appeal is the highest instance in administrative cases, the defense intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
