Tehran: Daily Tehran-Baku flights have been launched, said the spokesperson of the Iranian government, Fatima Mohecerani at a press conference, APA reports. “Amid President Masoud Pezeshkian’s first visit to Azerbaijan, an agreement was reached on preparing a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation and economic diplomacy to establish bilateral political trust, as well as holding numerous meetings with private sector investors. As a result of this visit, daily Tehran-Baku flights, which have not been implemented for a long time, have been launched,” she noted.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the launch of these flights marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between Iran and Azerbaijan. The move is expected to enhance economic and political cooperation, facilitating greater interaction between government officials and private sector investors from both countries. The resumption of these flights, which had been suspended for a period, is seen as a concrete outcome of the recent diplomatic engagements and the efforts to build a strategic partnership between the two nations.
The decision to restart daily flights is part of a broader initiative aimed at boosting economic diplomacy and fostering a climate of trust and collaboration. The comprehensive document on strategic cooperation, which is currently being prepared, will likely outline further areas of partnership and mutual benefit. The emphasis on economic diplomacy during President Pezeshkian’s visit underscores the importance both countries place on enhancing trade and investment opportunities.
The resumption of the Tehran-Baku flights is anticipated to provide a much-needed boost to tourism and business travel, offering a direct and convenient link between the capitals of Iran and Azerbaijan. This development is expected to pave the way for increased cultural exchange and a deeper understanding between the peoples of the two neighboring countries.
