Last year investigation was over and 301 criminal cases were sent to courts against 492 people accused of corruption. This was stated at today’s operational meeting in the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan.

Damage compensation in the amount of 39 million 224 thousand manats was provided under these cases, and property worth 101 million 373 thousand manats was seized.

Besides, those exempted from criminal liability have paid 2 million 195 thousand manats to the state budget.

Also, the meeting voiced information on the punishment of prosecutors, two of whom were dismissed from prosecutor’s office, 5 – dismissed from their positions, 30 – were reprimanded or severely reprimanded and 15 – received reprimands.

As for execution of the Act of Amnesty announced last November, it should be added that today 10,943 people have fallen within its scope.
