Lille: Davide Ancelotti, the son and former assistant of Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti, has been appointed as the head coach of Ligue 1 side Lille on a contract extending until the end of the 2027-28 season. Ancelotti's appointment was confirmed by the club, as reported by OneFootball.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ancelotti has signed a two-year contract with Lille and is set to guide the team into the Champions League in the 2026-27 season. This follows Lille's third-place finish in the recently concluded French top-flight campaign.

A statement on the Lille website expressed the club's enthusiasm about Ancelotti's arrival, highlighting his experience and reputation for nurturing young talent while maintaining high performance levels. The statement read, 'LOSC is delighted with the arrival of Davide Ancelotti at the dawn of a new 2026-2027 season that will combine Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League.'

This appointment marks Ancelotti's second head coach role, after a brief period in charge of Botafogo in 2025. The 36-year-old boasts a robust coaching resume, having spent nearly 15 years alongside his father Carlo Ancelotti. His journey included roles at Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid as a fitness coach and later as an assistant at Napoli, Everton, and during the Ancelottis' second tenure at the Bernabeu. Additionally, he contributed to the Brazil national team setup surrounding his time with Botafogo.
