Baku: The deadline for Urban Expo applications at the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku from May 17 to May 22, 2026, has been extended as interest from potential exhibitors continues to grow. The new deadline for submitting applications is now April 10, 2026.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the exhibition is anticipated to draw tens of thousands of visitors from around the world, offering a crucial platform for demonstrating innovative solutions in sustainable urban development. The event will take place at the Baku Olympic Stadium, the main venue for WUF13, covering an extensive area of 35,000 square meters. It is expected to attract a diverse group of participants, including representatives from national and local governments, regional bodies, UN agencies, academic institutions, international financial institutions, civil society organizations, foundations, and private companies.
The Urban Expo will feature a variety of exhibition spaces, ranging from smaller stands to large-scale national and city pavilions. The event aims to unite global participants around essential themes, such as adequate housing, climate resilience, digital innovation, and inclusive urban development, presenting practical and innovative solutions to the pressing challenges faced by modern cities.
The forum will also introduce several new initiatives, such as the Startup Pavilion for emerging ventures focusing on innovative housing and urban solutions, and the WUF Academy, which will provide masterclasses and facilitate knowledge exchange.
