Deal Between Russia and Ukraine Must Ensure Long-Term Security, Says Putin

Moscow: Any potential agreements between Russia and Ukraine will need to guarantee the security of both countries for a long time to come, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Putin emphasized the importance of such agreements during a conversation with Russian television host Pavel Zarubin, underscoring that the finalization of these documents is a serious matter. He highlighted the necessity for the agreements to ensure security for an extended period, indicating that any deal should be carefully crafted without “a single blunder or a single rough edge.”

Putin also pointed out that considerations related to the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy should not be overlooked in the drafting of the agreements. The Russian leader’s comments reflect ongoing complexities in negotiations between the two countries, with security assurances being a pivotal aspect of any potential treaty.
