Death toll from Russia’s missile strikes on Ukraine climbs to 11-UPDATED-5

Ukraine’s state emergency service has said that at least 11 people were killed in Russian missile strikes, APA reports citing BBC.

 

Eight of these are reported to have died in Kyiv.

 

Earlier, the national police of Ukraine said that about 60 people had been injured across the country.

“The number of people killed and 36 injured during Russian rocket attacks on eight regions of Ukraine and the capital Kyiv has reached 9,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said in “Telegram”, APA reports.

 

It was reported that the strikes were mainly aimed at infrastructure facilities. At present, more than 120 people and up to a thousand special equipment have been involved in the elimination of destruction and fires in the area.

Eight civilians have been killed and 24 wounded as a result of missile strikes on Kyiv this morning, an aide to the Ukrainian interior minister has said, APA reports citing BBC.

 

Six cars caught fire after the attack and over 15 vehicles were damaged, Rostyslav Smyrnov said in a Facebook post.

 

He added that 30 emergency service workers and six response units attended the scene in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyy district.

As a result of a rocket attack on the center of Kyiv, 5 people died and 12 people were injured, said Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashenko, APA reports.

Two explosions were heard in the center of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday morning, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, APA reports citing CNN.

 

“All services are on the location,” Klitschko wrote on Telegram.

 

CNN teams on the ground heard two explosions between 8:15 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. local time.
