“Azerbaijani Army liberated our territories from occupation by crossing the “Ohanyan barrier” which was considered impassable by Armenians,” said Deputy of the Commander of a military unit of the Ministry of Defense on Ideological Work and Moral-psychological provision, colonel Elshad Abilov at the conference on “War crimes by Armenia against people of Azerbaijan during latest 30 years” organized by Center for Social Researches, APA reports.
Speaking about “Armenia’s military crimes in Azerbaijani territories”, Elshad Abilov has noted that Azerbaijan responded to Armenia’s military crimes by liberating its territories: “Requirements of any international convention were not violated during this time. Our cities, villages, and all infrastructure were destroyed under occupation during 30 years.
Elshad Abilov has added that Armenia’s provocations were also decently responded to after the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijani Army again showed its power: “The enemy does not provide landmine maps, the maps, provided with them do not meet demands fully. Sappers of Azerbaijani Army detected and neutralized 21,573 mines and unexploded ordnances in an area of 27,590 hectares after the Patriotic War. Our eight servicemen were killed, 85 injured as a result of landmine blasts during the period.”
Noting newly-planted mines have been detected in Lachin and Kalbajar after the 44-day Patriotic War, E. Abilov has said that burial sites in Farrukh and Edilli villages prove Armenia’s military crimes: “We are sure that new burial sites will also be detected, because about our 4,000 citizens went missing during the First Karabakh War.”
The colonel has stressed that Azerbaijani Army is always ready to respond resolutely to any step of Armenia, any country against our state sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“If Armenians, living in our territories want to accept citizenship of state of Azerbaijan and live, should avoid committing any provocation from now own, avoid making us angry. If such a case happens, they will see a determined response from the Azerbaijani Army.”
