Baku: The legislation offers state protection for individuals who report corruption violations, Aynur Osmanova, Head of the Legal Support and Human Rights Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, stated during a live broadcast on the Prosecutor General's Office Instagram page. She emphasized that any retaliatory actions against such individuals are prohibited due to the information they provide.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Osmanova pointed out that if a person reporting corruption violations suspects their dismissal or disciplinary punishment is linked to the information they provided, the responsibility to prove otherwise rests with the employer. She highlighted that legislation regulates all issues related to the protection of those reporting corruption violations, establishing criminal liability for such instances.

It was further stated that dismissing or threatening an individual in retaliation for reporting corruption offenses is governed by law, with protections reinforced by amendments to the Labor Code. Any pressure applied or material damage caused to such individuals constitutes an administrative offense, with criminal liability in more serious circumstances.
