Tashkent: 'The Media Content Production Center in Uzbekistan is implementing several projects aimed at developing the media sector and expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan," Jahongir Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Director of the Media Content Production Center operating under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, told APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Center, which will soon mark one year since the start of its activities, was established at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. The main purpose of the institution is not to regulate the media sector, but to stimulate its development and support the production of high-quality and objective content.
Abdurakhmanov emphasized that one of the Center's areas of activity is promoting Uzbekistan internationally, including in Azerbaijan. He stated, "We have a large number of joint projects with our Azerbaijani colleagues. These cover television, joint filming and cinema."
The Deputy Director noted that a film about traveling to Uzbekistan is currently being produced jointly with Azerbaijan, with some scenes planned to be shot in Azerbaijan. This collaboration is part of the broader effort to enhance cultural and media ties between the two nations.
He also explained that cooperation in the media sector continues within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, with agreements on the exchange of experience between Uzbekistan's media development body and relevant Azerbaijani institutions.
Abdurakhmanov highlighted the current media tour involving Azerbaijani journalists as an example of cooperation between the two countries. The main purpose of the visit is to inform the Azerbaijani public about the changes that have taken place in Uzbekistan over the past 10 years, new facilities, industrial sectors, and areas of development.
He expressed the desire for Azerbaijani colleagues to visit Uzbekistan not only within the framework of political events but also to witness the changes in the country, including new industrial sectors and facilities. The media tour aims to provide the Azerbaijani public with broader information about the development of modern Uzbekistan and the achievements it has made over the past decade.
