Baku: Azerbaijan is currently contributing to the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said in an interview with APA. The deputy minister emphasized the nation's commitment to international peace and security through its participation in various global initiatives.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rafiyev stated that Azerbaijan has consistently made significant contributions within the United Nations framework, engaging actively in discussions at the General Assembly and Security Council levels. He highlighted Azerbaijan's participation in international peacekeeping missions as part of its global responsibilities.
Rafiyev further detailed Azerbaijan's current involvement in the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, noting the deployment of two Azerbaijani officers. This contribution is managed by the Department of International Security, reflecting Azerbaijan's dedication to supporting international efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability worldwide.
