Baku: A list of social media platforms will be determined, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Hasanov said during the discussion of the draft law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" at today's joint meeting of the Milli Majlis Committees on Human Rights, Family, Women and Children's Issues, as well as Legal Policy and State Building, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the deputy minister stated that there will be certain difficulties in the area of oversight. He highlighted that even in countries like Australia, challenges and particular cases related to oversight are being observed. Hasanov pointed out that children use filters that alter facial features and other tools, emphasizing the need for awareness-raising and joint action to effectively implement the project. The list of social media platforms will be determined by the relevant executive authorities, taking into account the level of mass use of the platforms.
Hasanov also noted the rapid development of technologies, which makes it difficult to predict the exact challenges and questions that may arise in the future. The initiative reflects Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to manage and regulate the digital landscape to ensure a safe and informed online environment for its citizens.
