Baku: ‘We intend to increase our gas supply through the Southern Gas Corridor,’ Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov told APA TV, APA-Economics reports. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s significant potential in this sector, with the country boasting 2.6 trillion cubic meters of proven gas reserves.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Zeynalov emphasized that regional countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan in Central Asia also hold substantial reserves. He noted that Azerbaijan’s role as a transit country is set to grow, particularly with projects like the green energy connector. The Central Asia-Azerbaijan green energy corridor project is currently under development, further illustrating Azerbaijan’s strategic importance in regional energy distribution.
