Baku: The main goal of the amendment to the Law on “Electricity” is to more accurately reflect costs in tariffs, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev stated during the discussion of the proposed amendment to the Law on “Electricity” at the meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the project represents a significant step toward enhancing the regulation of tariffs in Azerbaijan’s utility services sector and the implementation of tariff methodology. He noted that the primary objective of this innovative approach is to ensure that costs are more accurately reflected in tariffs. This approach aims to apply a fairer system irrespective of the consumer’s status and level of utility service usage.
