Baku: Transplants are carried out in a systematized manner in Azerbaijan, said Deputy Minister of Health Nadir Zeynalov during his speech at the scientific and practical roundtable on the topic 'The first heart transplant in the Caucasus: a historic achievement of Azerbaijan's healthcare and future prospects,' APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, there is a waiting list for transplant surgeries in the country. Special mechanisms are employed to manage these procedures. The Coordination Center is responsible for addressing the issue of organ donation, particularly from non-close relatives. Additionally, efforts are underway to digitize the transplant system. Although progress has been made in this area, the work has not yet been completed.
